This was soooooo good....

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Slow-Cooker…
My husband's favorite is a very simple recipe.

Take chicken breasts with or with out bones

place in crock pot. Cut up onions as many or as few as you like and place on top of the chicken. Pour a small jar of spaghetti sauce over this. I use Prego, but any kind will do. Cover and cook on low until the chicken is done. You can use any part of the chicken really we just like white meat. I make mashed potatoes and we eat the sauce on the potatos.

I spray my crock pot with Pam for ease of cleaning.

It is possible to cook any type of meat in the crock pot without adding anything else. I have cooked pork and when I get home from work dump the liquid off and add BBQ sauce for a half hour or so.

Another good thing in the crock pot is saurkraut and pork. Throw the pork in the crock pot. Rinse and drain the saurkraut. I use brown sugar and apple sauce to give the kraut a different taste. I sometimes add caraway seeds. Cook on low for several hours and the pork will break up and be so tender and moist.

Hope these suggestions help.
What flavors are you going for?

Try recipezaar.com for an alternatve to allrecipes. They seem to have more homemade stuff, without all the shortcuts like canned/processed foods.

http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes/crockp… they have a full section on crockpot recipes that range from entre's to desserts.

the canned soups are just a step saver, for those unable to spend hours making soup bases, etc. I know if you do not like processed soups, there are plenty of recipies you can make on your own.
WOW, i have a good one...

Take either 2 pork tenderloins or pork chops and cut into pieces, and add 4 different kinds of bbq sauce and cook on low for 8 hours, and you have amazing pulled pork when done. You could add onions if you desire, the end result on a ard roll will blow your mind!! hope dad likes it!!!!!
Don't like condensed soup either. Got food poisoning from that!! Try making Italian meatballs. You could serve it over a pot of pasta or as a sandwich. Here's the recipe :

MEATBALL

- 1 lb. ground beef

- 1/2 lb. Italian sausage

- 2 eggs

- 1/4 C. milk

- 1/2 C. dry breadcrumbs

- 3 T. grated parmesan cheese

- 1/2 t. garlic powder

- salt and pepper

In a bowl, beat eggs and add milk. Add beef and Italian sausage. Mix together. Add rest of ingredients and mix until combined. Shape the mixture into 1 inch balls and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350°F. for 15 minutes. Add to crock pot.

SAUCE

- 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce

- 1 6 oz. can tomato paste

- 1 small onion chopped

- 1/2 C. green pepper

- 1/2 C. beef broth

- 1/3 C. water

- 2 garlic cloves minced

- 1 t. oregano

- 1 t. salt

- 1 t. sugar

- 1/2 t. pepper

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and pour over the meatballs. Cover and cook on Low for 4 - 5 hours.

You could probably buy a jar of Ragu instead of having to make the sauce if you wanted.
Crock-Pot Steak Roll

This is a wonderfully impressive dish that’s easy and delicious.

1 ½ - 2 lb boneless steak – 1” thick, long and narrow – London Broil works good

½ onion – diced

1/3 cp green pepper – diced

¼ cp sun dried tomatoes

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp oregano

1 jar beef gravy – 12 oz

1/3 cp red wine

¼ tsp pepper

2 Tbls flour

3 Tbls water

Cut the steak in half lengthwise, cutting almost but not all the way thru one long side. Open and pound it out to an even thickness. Sprinkle evenly with garlic powder and oregano. Arrange onion, green pepper and sun dried tomatoes over the whole steak.

Starting at one narrow end, roll the steak and secure with toothpicks. Place steak roll in the crock pot. Throw in any loose bits that fell out while you were rolling it up and any pieces of meat that you may have had to trim off. This all helps make the gravy even better.

In a small bowl, combine the gravy, red wine and pepper. Pour this over the steak roll, cover and cook on Low 8-10 hours.

When ready to serve, combine flour and water. Move the steak roll to a dish that you can keep it warm in. Stir the flour paste into the gravy. Cover and cook on High 10-15 min to thicken. Cut steak roll into slices and serve with gravy.
Okay you can do chili, stew, chicken soup etc....

Do a bean pot. Using dried beans that have been soaked (look on package for directions) or even canned beans. Add some onions, a carrot diced, and cooked bacon if you want. Also add a ham hock it will be a great. The ham hock adds flavor and the ham will come off and add some chunks to it. Also add a little diced ham. Throw in some brown sugar and or molasses or honey. Just a little bit. A bean pot is just what ever you like thrown into a pot, and is good with corn bread, crackers, or a bread bowl.

Or this, this is a chili, bean soup mix. A little different but very good with cornbread. I know there is a lot of stuff in this recipe but it is worth it, also use different beans if you want.

2 pounds hamburger

1/2 pound bacon

1 large onion chopped

1 1 large green onion chopped (optional)

1 16 oz can butter beans

1 16 oz can pork and beans

1 16 oz can kidney beans

1 16 oz can tomato sauce

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

2 tablespoons molasses

2 tsp vinegar

1 tsp worcestershire sauce

1 tsp mustard

Brown the hamburger and bacon. Drain most the fat off the burger-bacon mix. Add the onion and bell pepper, cook until crisp tender.

Add meat mix and all remaining ingrediants to the crock pot, and cook on low heat 3-4 hours.

This one is also good:

Slow Cooker Chicken Curry:

You could cut this recipe in half very easily or double it depending on how many people you are serving.

10 chicken thighs, skins removed

1 jar (16 oz) of your fav chunky style salsa

1 medium onion

2 tbsp curry powder (I'm not big on curry so I only did 1 tbsp)

1 cup sour cream (regular or fat free)

Place the chicken in the slow cooker , combine salsa, onions, and curry powder. Pour over chicken, and cover with lid.

Cook on low 8-10 hours, or on high for 5 hours.

Remove chicken to serving platter, cover to keep warm. Add sour cream to the salsa mix, stir until well blended Serve over chicken.

Serve chicken with rice.
I make great roast beef in my crock pot by putting the roast in before I go to work with beef broth and onion and set it on low for about 8 hours then when get home from work I add corrots and let them cook for about a hour on high. great
