I need soup recipes for a crowd?

Any good soup recipes for a party?

We're having a birthday party for our 2 year old. 30-40 people for casual dinner. I figured a couple of different soups with toppings might be fun and inexpensive. Does anyone have any good soup recipes and toppings that might go with them? ThanksI need soup recipes for a crowd?
Tortilla Soup

• 2 chicken breasts halves, boned, skinned and cubed

• 3 medium tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped

• 4 cups chicken broth

• 1/4 tsp salt

• 1/8 tsp pepper

• 1 mild green chile, seeded and chopped

• 2 Tbls vegetable oil

• 4 corn tortillas, halved and cut into 1/4” strips

• shredded Monterey Jack cheese, a little for each serving

• 2 Tbls coarsely chopped fresh cilantro or Italian parsley

Combine chicken breasts, onion, garlic, tomatoes, broth, salt, pepper and green chile in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 7-8 hours. Heat oil in large skillet and add tortilla strips. Cook, stirring over medium heat until crisp; drain on paper towels.I need soup recipes for a crowd?
Well you dont want your guests to have soup stains so maybe staying away from soup in itself is ideal!!!! Instead, why not try a fun salad such as: raspberry and walnuts with feta cheese, or strawberry and almond slivers, or mandarin oranges with feta cheese and an oriental chicken added to that. However, if you do want soup recipes one of my favs is black bean soup just add a dollop of sour cream to it with a couple sprigs of Cilantro and a squeeze of lime that the guest can squeeze into theyre own bowls. Or, make a creamy tomatoe soup, or french onion although thats kind of messy, everyone will like a basic wild rice and chicken soup with carrots. I like the idea of a basic soup like chicken and wild rice because then you dont have to deal with people who are lactose intolerant or allergic to nuts and what nots. One of my favorite cheese spreads is: tuna pate' you take a can of tuna packed in water, drain the water out of the can, and use 1/2 lowfat cream cheese spread one package, use a pinch of garlic salt and pepper to taste, and a slightly small squeeze of lemon juice, and mince up one tablespoon of onion. Mix with electric mixer and spread on crackers its sooooooooooo good!
Taco Soup

1lb hamb meat

1 can rotel

1 packet ranch dressing mix

1 packet taco seasoning

1 can hominy

Brown meat and add ingredients, simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Top with crushed corn chips, sour cream and shredded cheese.

I would probably triple or quadruple it for 30-40 people. This looks like an unusual recipe, but it is really tasty.
Unless it's going to be outside, I would think having 30-40 people eating soup may be kind of dangerous to your carpeting..... spillage? You may be better off with a lasagna/casserole/finger food type menu.
